ABOUT ME
I am from Virginia Beach. I grew up in the Great Neck area and I currently live in Red Mill. I graduated from Cox High School. While at Cox, I was a two-time state champion in tennis. I graduated from James Madison University with a political science degree. I received a full athletic scholarship for tennis at JMU. I graduated from Old Dominion University with a Masters degree in Education. I graduated from the University of Akron with a law degree.
Currently I am a teacher at King's Fork High School in Suffolk. I teach government and history in the International Baccalaureate Program. I have taught at King's Fork for 15 years. I am a member of the Education Association of Suffolk, the Virginia Education Association, and the National Education Association. I enjoy having a job where I make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
I ran for Virginia Beach City Council in the At Large District in 2018. I had the opportunity to speak to thousands of Virginia Beach residents during the campaign at candidate forums and civic league meetings. I also had the opportunity getting to know the 22 candidates running for city council. I was recently appointed by city council to serve on the Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission.
